TAPI, or the Telephony Application Programming Interface (pronounced 'tappy') is an application interface developed by Microsoft and Intel to allow interaction between computers and telephony equipment. LG-Ericsson offers a TSP, or Telephony Services Provider, to translate the standard TAPI protocal to the language that the IPECS uses. This allows application developers to write their applications to interface to Microsoft standard TAPI and the LG-Ericsson TSP does the rest. Application developers do not need specific knowledge of the IPECS to write TAPI standard applciations which will work on the Platform. For more information on TAPI visit the Microsoft TAPI developer centre. For information on suggested applciations for the IPECS go to the application pages.
