The IPECS platform can be licensed for LG-Ericsson's Application Interface Messaging service (AIM) which is similar to TAPI but enables much closer integration between the MFIM Call Server and computer applications. AIM has been developed so that application developers can write applications specifically for the IPECS and perform integrations that are just not possible with the TAPI standard.
