Gateways

Gateways

At the heart of the IPECS Platform is the Call Server, from which your solution can grow with the use of Gateways (sometimes referred to as Modules, Blades or Units.) These Gateways easily connect to the Call Server over any IP network, this could be your internal Local Area Network (LAN) or a larger IP network such as the Internet (or Wide Area Network [WAN]). You can even use the IPECS' distributed network to break down geographic boundaries and place modules in different buildings, cities or countries.

The IPECS Gateways interface to an array of resources including analogue, digital and IP trunks (external lines) and extensions (phones). Some Gateways also expand the functionality of the central Call Server and enhance its capabilities for such activities as multi-party video conferencing and application sharing. This simple modular structure yields flexible configurations and installations to meet your business needs now, and in the future.

Gateways can be categorised into three groups:

Arrow EXTERNAL LINE CONNECTIONS

External line, or trunk, modules provide access to external networks via different standards allowing you to build the most appropriate system to your existing infrastructure. You can use multiple modules on a single system giving access at different locations to different network types.
